When we start a new project we have to decide what type of drywall is better to use.

The white board is a common and economical option, comes in different sizes and used for regular renovations.

For rooms with higher level of moisture (such as laundries, kitchens or basements) is better to choose green boards.

Blue drywall is a good choice for bathroom renovations due to covering that protects the gypsum from contact with water.

Paperless drywall usually has yellow color. The key is a fiberglass covering instead of paper. That helps the walls to avoid water damage in case of any leaks and future renovation after a flood could be cheaper with that type of drywall.

Another option to prevent water damage is purple drywall. That version of gypsum boards has an extra protection from moisture and mold.

The Type X drywall usually used in garages, basements and large buildings for it's fire-resistance. It has extra thickness that also helps with soundproofing. For extra protection from sound there is a soundproof drywall that is more dense and not easy to work with but helps to get sound isolation for room with extra noise (kids' or musician rooms).

Choice of drywall depends on your goals, budget, building codes and place where it will be installed. We can help you with that decision. Give us a call +14162506856 or send us a message to get free quote.
