It is also called a plasterboard, sometimes wallboard. Made from two paperboards with a layer of powdery sulfate mineral (also known as gypsum) between them. Drywall got its name due to the installation process - without water.

Today you can find new versions of that famous construction part produced with new environmentally friendly materials. The new invention made with wheat, grass or straw compressed between heavy paper. Those environmentally friendly boards are also fire resistant.
