What’s Drywall?

history-1.jpg

We all know those boards that help to create walls and ceilings in our houses and apartments. They make it much easier to create any interior design. Builders like it because drywall makes repairs or building processes cheaper and easier.

Drywall was invented in 1916 by US Gypsum Company but first caught on during the baby boom as a cheap and convenient material that also added a fire resistance element to the house. It is also called a plasterboard, sometimes wallboard. Made from two paperboards with a layer of powdery sulfate mineral (also known as gypsum) between them. Drywall got its name due to the installation process - without water.

Today you can find new versions of that famous construction part produced with new environmentally friendly materials. The new invention made with wheat, grass or straw compressed between heavy paper. Those environmentally friendly boards are also fire resistant.

There are different types of drywall present on a market. We’ll help you to choose the best option for your project for a reasonable and fair price.
